OUR SERVICES

SPECIAL SERVICE CARE INSTRCTIONS

  • Pre-wax tips that will help you get ready for your waxing service and ensure the best wax and experience possible leaving the skin smooth, beautiful.

Stop Shaving or Tweezing 5-7 Days Before Your Wax

This allows your hair to grow out, because hair that is about the length of a grain of rice allows the wax to get a better grip.

    Gently Exfoliate Before Your Waxing

This helps remove dead skin and allows for a closer wax. It also aids in lessening your chances of developing ingrown hairs post-wax.

    Plan for Extra Sensitivity

Like a lot of other things, skin can be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle, so consider booking your reservation in between your cycles.

    Get ahead of the Discomfort

If you are concerned about discomfort that may come from waxing (especially if it's your first time waxing) it is to your discretion to take an ibuprofen an hour prior to your wax.

    Baggy is Best

Just-waxed skin is always a bit more sensitive. Wearing loose, thin clothing won't irritate your skin as much as restrictive, thick fabrics like spandex, lycra or denim.

    Choose Natural Fibers

Let your skin breathe! Natural fibers like cotton and silk promote airflow and won't stick to your skin like synthetic fabrics.

Post-Wax tips that will help you care for your newly waxed skin.

After your first Bikini or Brazilian wax

Your first bikini wax will remove the majority of hair that's grown above the skin. Because the hairs grow in different cycles, hairs that were growing below the skin’s surface during your first wax will be removed during your next few waxes. *After 3-4 waxes, all hairs should be growing in the same cycle, which means longer-lasting results!

    Consistency

After your first bikini wax, every wax after it gets easier and easier (as long as you don’t shave!) If you shave, the next bikini wax will probably feel just like the first time. Shaving between waxes can also cause itching, or worse… ingrown hairs! So, throw out that razor!

    Tanning after waxing

Wait 24 to 48 hours after a wax before exposure in the sun. Freshly waxed skin is more prone to sun damage if exposed too soon. If you just must go in the sun, be sure to thoroughly apply sunscreen to the waxed area to help prevent from burning.

How long should my hair be for my next wax?

Hair needs to be at least a ¼ inch long. Typically your wax will last from 3-4 weeks. However, everyone's rate of re-growth is different. With the right wax after care you can help keep your skin smoother, longer. Just ask your wax specialist to point you in the right direction.

    Sex after Brazilian/bikini waxing?

Best to wait 24-48 hours so your skin has time to heal and hair follicles can close. Doing so will prevent further skin irritation.

5 Possible After-Effects of Bikini Waxing (and How the Pros Suggest Treating Them!)

    Redness

It will disappear over time. Generally, it can last from a few minutes to a few days, depending on your skin’s sensitivity.

    Itching

Minor itching is normal. We know it's going to be tempting, but try very hard not to scratch those freshly waxed areas. Your skin will be new and sensitive, so you should be careful not to cause further irritation by scratching. If it's driving you crazy, try a dab of aloe vera gel.

    Bumps

Some bumps are a result of post wax irritation and will go away on their own within a few hours to a few days. To help calm your skin, you can use aloe vera gel to help soothe and treat any ingrown hairs, bumps or breakouts.

    Ingrown hairs

To prevent ingrown hairs (or further skin irritation), we recommend using both aloe vera gel and a moisturize daily.

    Stubble

If you just got waxed and are already seeing a 5 o'clock shadow, don't panic! Everyone's hairs grow in different cycles, so it's possible that hairs below the skin's surface are just now sprouting after your wax service. Daily moisturizing between services is key, since dry or brittle hair can easily break during a bikini or Brazilian wax service. So just go with the flow and allow these hairs to grow so we can remove them at your next wax appointment.

  • We think it’s important that regardless of how familiar you are with lash extensions, that you have all the right information to help you take care of your lashes.

Lash extensions are delicate little things and need a little TLC to ensure that they last. The answer to “How long will they last?” varies greatly – it mostly comes down to you and what you do (and don’t do) to them.

Three reasons you want to care for them properly:

    1. Your lash health. Not taking care of your lashes as listed in the DON’T section below, can compromise your lash health and slow down the growth of new lashes. If you don’t clean your lashes regularly, your lids can become itchy from the buildup of dead skin.

    2. They will look better for longer. Lash extensions that have been coated in mascara, oily makeup and strip lashes don’t look that great.

    3. Refill cost and financial/time factors. If you look after your lashes and retain them well, you won’t need to come in as frequently or for extended refill appointments, which will save you money. Our refills are charged based on the amount of lashes that we have to replace each time. If you have 50% or more of lash extensions loss you will be charged for a new Full Set.

    DO

    • Leave them alone, particularly during the first few hours. The more you touch them, the more oils from your fingers get on them, the more strain on the lash root etc.

    • Don’t get them wet for at least 24. This means, it’s ideal if you don’t wash your hair during this time. However, if you need to, use only lukewarm water, and keep water off your eyes. This also includes avoiding steamy environments, very hot showers, pools, spas, saunas etc. for 24 hours as a minimum. If it’s a very hot and humid day, try to stay out of the heat/sweat etc.

•After 24 hours, they are technically waterproof. However, if you’re exposing them to steam regularly or rubbing them from swimming, they won’t last as long –gently pat them dry when wet.

•If you have a very oily skin, try to control this as much as possible with blotting papers, mattifying lotions etc. and by using oil-control moisturizer.

•Make sure you are using oil-free products on your face, particularly eye makeup removers and cleansers. We recommend an eyelash extension safe aftercare. These are available for purchase in our beauty lounge.

•Clean them properly, at least a few times a week with an eyelash extension safe foaming lash cleanser. These are available for purchase in our beauty lounge.

•Let us know before your refill if you think you will need more time because you have more lash loss than expected or want to upgrade to a thicker set/more lashes.

Let us know if you have any concerns or questions – we’re always happy to help!

    DON’T

•Don’t play with, pick at or rub your lashes/eyes roughly. If you are a picker, it will really damage your natural lashes.

•Don’t use oily products on your eyes or face i.e. facial cleansing oils, coconut oil, micellar water (near the eyes anyway) or oily makeup remover.

•Don’t use waterproof or oil based mascara or eyeliner (felt tip/pen-style liquid liner is usually fine.

•Don’t use baby wipes/makeup wipes/cotton pads to wipe makeup off of your lashes.

•Don’t try to remove them yourself –it will damage your natural lashes. We can remove them (please schedule a lash removal appointment).

•Don’t put strip lashes on top of them, if you do be prepared to lose a few of your own lashes when you try to take them off.

•Don’t use eyelash curlers of any kind on them – they don’t need it and we can make them more curled at refills if you want to change anything.

•Be mindful of intense heat (stovetops, ovens, open flames or anything that is high heat).

    What is normal

•Immediately after the lash application, some individuals with sensitivities can experience minor redness and dry eyes. We try to minimize this as much as possible, we will ask if you are sensitive beforehand. In most cases, this disappears within an hour or so and there’s no need to worry. Of course, call us if you are concerned.

•It’s normal to lose a couple of lashes every day (1-5). Don’t be alarmed if you notice them from time to time (as they are much larger than your natural lashes you will see them). The extension falls out attached to the natural lash when it is ready to come out, and a new baby lash takes its place. Some days you won’t lose any, other days you might lose 3 or 4. It’s completely normal and does not mean your eyelashes are all going to fall out!

•Some lash growth cycles are faster than others. You may find every few months, your lashes shed faster than other times. It usually means that you have a lot of new growth, and when you come in we will see a lot more lashes we can attach extensions to! Other times they might still look great at 4 or 5 weeks, as they have not shed much.

•No two sets of lashes are identical. We customize the styling, sizes, weights and curls to every individual’s eye shape, natural lash condition and tastes. Each style looks different depending on your own eye shape. So please be aware that your lashes will not look identical to your friends, even if you request the exact same thing.

•Expect between 2 – 4 weeks before you need a refill. On average, our clients come back every 3 weeks. Sets consisting of more lashes (hybrid and volume) will usually last longer than those with less (full and demi). Shorter lashes usually last longer too.

    What’s not normal

•If you experience intense itching and or red/swollen eyelids in the first few days after the application. This could be a sign of an allergic reaction. Unfortunately, these are largely unavoidable – but luckily they are rare, and can be treated. Please contact us if you are worried at all about this.

•A streak of red towards the bottom part of your eye in the first few days can signify that you have had a reaction/sensitivity to the under-eye pads that we use. This is uncommon, but nothing to be overly concerned about. Please let us know, and see your pharmacist for advice. Usually it will resolve within a few days. We can adjust treatments in future to use a different pad/tape method for you.

•Excessive shedding of extensions off the natural lashes in the first few days. This is uncommon – but please contact us if you feel they are shedding rapidly within the first 3 days of application so we can troubleshoot and/or assess your lashes.

•If (after wearing extensions for a while) you find your eyes sometimes feel gritty and sandy – this can mean that you really need to clean your lashes more frequently/properly. Your specialist can assess your lash line and give advice on the best way to clean your lashes. Normally, every day cleaning with a lash wash will resolve this issue.

    Refills

If you wish to maintain your lashes, usually between 2-4 weeks, you will require refills. Timing depends on factors such as:

•Generally, the more lashes we apply, the longer they last (more to lose).

•Shorter lashes will usually last a little longer/grow out neater than really long ones.

•How you treat them/makeup and cleansing habits.

•Your lash cycle and how fast you are shedding/growing lashes.

•Your skin type (oilier complexions usually shed lashes faster, dry hair/skin types usually last a bit longer.

We will refill up to around 4-5 weeks, as long as at least 50% of the lashes have been retained well. Please let us know in advance if you think you will need more time than usual or want to add any additional services (i.e. cleaning or change of set) in.

Before you come for your next refill:

•It’s wise to book in advance – particularly for evening and weekend bookings – these times are most popular and can book out months in advance. If you would like to see a specific specialist only, please let us know so we can ensure this!

•Let us know if you would like anything changed, for example if you would like to upgrade to a thicker set or try volume instead of classic. As we do need more time for a thicker look.

•Make sure you aren’t wearing any eye makeup, that your eyes are perfectly clean. Unclean lids and lashes (particularly things we can’t see like lash mites – they thrive when lashes are never cleaned!) will prevent extensions from bonding well, and they may not last long – plus it means we spend more time cleaning your lashes, and less time applying lashes. Or arrive 5-10 mins early so you can remove makeup.

Please don’t bring small children (under the age of 10 – or at least of an age able to sit quietly for the duration of your appointment). If you bring an older child, please ensure that if they are using an i-pad or other device, it is set to silent or have headphones. As much as we love kids, our salon is not the place for them if they require active supervision or will likely be needing your attention – as there are often numerous chemicals, hot wax and equipment that is easily broken in the same room. We want to ensure a relaxing, safe and distraction-free experience for all of our visitors.

  • 1.Wear loose fitting clothes, T-shirt dresses and flip flops to ensure none of the newly applied spray tan is rubs off.

*Avoid denim, yoga pants, leggings, bras or underwear.

2.Shower, exfoliate and shave with oil free products, a minimum of 4 hours before your appointment. A cool rinse is best to allow your pores to close and avoid discoloration.

*If your skin is wet and your pores are open the spray tan will not stick properly to your skin leaving it patchy.

3.Come with clean skin. Do not use moisturizers, make-up or other beauty products as it will prevent the spray tan from sticking to your skin.

4.Be sure to do all facials, massages, manicures and waxing prior to your appointment.

*Doing these after your spray tan will cause your spray tan to rub off.

5.Have a special event coming up? Book your appointment 48hrs (2 days) prior to the event as your skin needs time to fully absorb the spray tan. For best results, book your appointment 72hrs (3 days) prior to your big event to so your skin has optimal time to adjust to the spray tan.

6.Please reach out to your specialist with any questions.

    CLOTHING

Bring loose fitting clothes to change into right after your spray tan. NO DEMIN, YOGA PANTS, LEGGINGS, BRAS OR UNDERWEAR (if you must wear a bra, strapless is best). Wear flip slips as socks, shoes and slides will rub your spray tan off.
